One More thing......
ANGRA ROCKS!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe toy hung w/them and all Matt...DAMN YOU. I may not know you but if you tlak to some of the guys of "EDEN" i'm an wierd guy. I like your and your band mates influences and i never seen "Angrs" on an american b4. Hey look if you like Angra look these guys up. #@*%!in' awsome. Sorry for the dbl post.

Matt:
Yeah, it was fun to hang with Angra. They are the nicest most down to earth band I've met to date.

As far as American bands go,
we are different that's for sure. Our influences are more global and less "American Top 40".

I can't wait to see the Prog metal show at Thunderdome. I seen Images of eden many times and they always blow my mind away, and i was listening to your samples, i can't wait. Good luck, and your playing w/one hell of an good band. (i don't know of the other 2 so no dierespect to them until i hear them. and i bet they sound awsome)

Matt:
We're excited about that too. It should be a fun time. Gordon has a helluva voice on him.

All the bands involved are great bands. This is a good chance for Baltimore and the surrounding area to see some pro-sounding bands at a cheap cover price.

Thanks so much for driving down from Baltimore to check us out. It was great to meet you and Dawn.

I had a ton of fun with you jamming with us. You've got a helluva voice!

We're also looking forward to doing a prog-show with y'all. Things are looking really cool. A National Act or two may be in the works for the show too. ;) I'm just hoping it all pans out like we want.

hey guys, You did great on friday night at Monks. I really enjoyed all the tunes. The Pink Floyd was awesome. Also enjoyed the Heaven and Hell/last in line/rainbow in the dark/heaven and hell medley. (suggest fitting in Holy Diver for the next show):)
Keep up the great work.
Michelle, missed you at the DT concert this year. Hope all is well with you.

Matt:
Mike -

Thanks for the support! I'm glad you were able to come out, and even more so that you had a good time!

Dio is one of my favorite singers. He is a very talented man, and I hope I can at least partially do him justice! Speaking of Dio, I'll be seeing him, Mtorhead, and Iron Maiden tomorrow! I can't wait!

Yes, the Pink Floyd tune was strictly for something different and some fun. They are my favorite band of all time, so covering their music was a lot of fun. I’m really glad the crowd enjoyed it too!

Hey Matt:
It's Michelle..remember me!! I have a friend that is moveing to California Maryland for a job. I just met him through my mom's boyfriend. He is cool and enjoy's our music. I thought it would be cool if you could invite him to one of your show's. He is from Montana. He lives in California right now. He is just finishing classes at the GIA school for Jewlery. His name is Kjell Hansen. Is it O.K. if he e-mails you if he needs some help finding a place? Let me know if it is cool. I am in California visiting my mom right now. That is how I met Kjell. They are both in the same school together. How is Nicki? Bryan and I are fine. He now works for Northrop Grumman in Ohio. More later. Let me know if you can help my new friend out? I write more when I get home. Metal On!!

My name is Gordon from the band Images Of Eden. We are a prog-metal band out of Baltimore...very similiar to Queensryche meets less technical Dream Theater/ Fates Warning. I came across your website and was very impressed with your songlist and overall website. There are not many talented/ technical bands around anymore who can pull off this type of music. Do you plan on playing in the Baltimore area anytime soon? Also, check out our website at www.imagesofeden.com and listen to the mp3s. I think our bands could be compatable. Let me know if you like what you hear and maybe we can book a show together. Take care, Gordon.

Matt:
Gordon -

It's nice to see appreciation for our style and technical ability - especially from other musicians in the genre. Thanks!

We'd love to do some shows with y'all sometime - both up in Baltimore and down in Southern Maryland (and wherever else we could play together). Shot me an email, and I'll do the same with you. I think we would rock doing a show together!

O.C.,

Great job on Friday. You guys rocked! The Scorpions remake was most excellent. It brought back fond memories of highschool and getting snubbed by chicks and scolded by the nuns. Ahh... the good old days.

You guys were great. Everything was on and Craig did a fantastic job on guitar and keys. Metal on!

Thanks for the praise - and the laugh - nuns and chicks! LOL.

Craig did a wonderful job, especially for the short time he's been with us. Look for him to continue to progress and find his place in the band.

Well, there will never be a question on your ability to investigate. But now you have to really question yourself in really knowing who I am. You may think you have an but my son you are mistaken. Do you really know? Questions that surround you, are the convictions that you live with. After you make your choice you are convinced about your decision, but how can you judge someone else if you really don't know YOURSELF! Make sure you are certain about the people you let in your life, they are never what you think.

Well I guess it's obvious I know nothing about Metal. Someday I'll study a little more. I am currently sacrificing many of my slaves and will soon will be out of gifts for my lord. I am just a slave myself. But very soon, I will aquire many more slaves and I hope to do so at your worship ceremony. Did you sell your soul to obtain to upper hand at the so-called battle of the bands? I see no words about it on your site.
At the end there will be an empire that will rival the Romans. USA? Plan accordingly for your future. You all will be judged and I will see you all in HELL where you will serve me!!!!!!!!

Matt:
Hello, DAN formerly of Brainstew. ;) You crack me up with your pranks.

Battle of the Bands was a joke as is every gig at that establishment. Their treatment of bands is appalling. Some things never change. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. We learned our lesson.

Man, I cannot wait to hear the rest of the songs! I'm gonna start a cult following here in Finland, and collect money so that we can fly you guys over to play here! :)

Matt:
THANKS! I couldn't ask for a better compliment than "YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!". :)

I'd love to play Finland! In my opinion, some of the BEST metal bands around hail from "the land of a thousand lakes".

If you get a big enough following over there we may just head to your country for a show or two... ;)

It definitely has progressive influences - I usually describe it as a mix of prog, symphonic, power, thrash, and classic metal.

Hi Matt! I saw that you signed my guestbook so I thought I would return the favour.

The site looks really cool (I like the graphics and fonts...mmm... evil :)and from the look of your set lists you seem to be a very competent and tight band. A lot of the stuff in there is not easy! I can't wait to hear your demo. Actually, mainly to hear your vocals rather than your guitar playing. You must have a versatile voice to sing all that stuff. I can't sing very well, let alone sing and play the guitar well at the same time. Respect!

Keep rocking!

Sam

Matt:
Thanks for stopping by, and I appreciate the compliments on the website. :)

We do have (what I consider) to be a well-rounded and difficult setlist. They are fun songs though and we are very tight on them IMO.

The demo will be done soon! You'll get a copy. Vocals...I don't know how to describe them. I've had 3 different people say I sound very "Queensrychish" at times. (Which is far too kind!) That is only part of the time though I sing differently to fit the current mood of the song. I guess you'll just have to wait and see what you think! ;)

Guitar - well, being the virtuoso you are, I hope you don't expect Howe, Malmsteen, Petrucci, or Romeo! LOL

Matt:
I'll definitely send you a copy when it's done. We're aiming to have 5-6 songs. We'll definitely have 4 at a minimum. Some songs (1-3) will have alternate symphonic mixes, so the whole CD will have anywhere from 5-9 tracks on it.

Happy New Year to you, too!

Reckon the gig pics need to be culled in order to have a handful of really good ones of the band.

Otherwise fantastic for a band at your stage of development.

When's the UK tour?

We do have a lot of good gig pics, but they are spread out over all our dates. We don't even have all of them online since there are so many.

Hey,

What's up? Did you know Mushroomhead will be with Blind Guardian & Symphony X 2 days after we see 'em? I'd rather see the 2 of 'em by themselves. Mushroomhead doesn't really fit the bill but I like 'em a lot. Are you giving the site a facelift? Mine is in a transitional phase. I deleted the whole thing. It looked like something a rebellious teen would make. It's getting Flash enhancement as we speak. I might work on a new Odin's Court logo just to see what happens. Maybe something darker and more sinster. The HydraFx stuff is too happy and crappy for my tastes.

Later,

Bach

Matt:
Bach -

Hey, man. Mushroomhead is a killer band, but you're right - they don't fit with Symphony X and Blind Guardian.

I wanted to give the site a new look, but it takes more time than I have. I've been trying to make little changes here and there.

Ha ha! That's funny. I like how you have the Hydra FX site right now - based on what they do, it's a good fit.

A new logo would rock! Darker and more sinister would work! Evil = Cool!

What's up, bro. I emailed you.

Yeah, we miss Brainstew, too. The area is starting to seem "stale" again in my opinion. We need more new exciting bands rather than the same old thing.

Your God, huh? I figured it was Bach or someone who knew him!

We're planning on recording a demo in the next month or so. We'll put 5 or 6 songs on it. Then, in the spring or early summer, go on a "tour" to support it. Go around and play about 8 - 10 gigs in 2 weeks through the North (or South) East. Maybe we'll even make it over to Oklahoma and you can set us up with a gig somewhere?

Anyway, ROCK ON!

But what a Set List You've got!!!I see you are the manager too, and the one who shows the most info at the bio from the band. Ow I'm talking tooo much...

Hey Matt, it is your mystery man, I mean chick from the past. Your iff.navy email account returns all of my love letters I send. I think that new girl of yours is blocking my calls as well. I think there is enough Matt to go around.

Don't turn your back on my disgrace
The blood of Christ can't heal my wounds...so deep
The sins of man are all I taste
Can't spit the memory from my mind
I can't cry anymore

I've no more want of any faith
Binds my arm and feed my mind
The only peace I've ever known
I'll close my eyes and you shoot

Matt:

Matt, I once again checked your website cause last time I visited it I was only on it for like 2 minutes. I took a look at your pics from September 14th's gig. They seem pretty nice:)

When do you plan on having some audio online?

Matt:
Thanks, Bart! You're site rocks as well. I definitely liked your originals. If you are ever in the States, give me a holler!

We will definitely have audio online sometime. Here is the deal:

We're currently working on originals. We have 2 finished and are working on 2 more. We will probably continue to work on more once those are done too. Once we have 4 or 5 we really like, we plan on going into the studio to record them.

We are not sure when all this will be done though. Things are going really smooth and well for us right now, but our drummer may be moving for another job. He hasn't heard if he's in yet, but should know very soon. If he leaves, we'll have to get a new drummer and get them up to speed with 4 hours of covers and whatever originals we have completed.

Anyway, I hope we will get something recorded in the next 2 months, but we'll see. We do not want to force or rush anything.

Thanks for the interest, and Metal On!

I enjoyed hearing the attempt at Mr. Tates vocals. All pale in comparison but the band played the song well. Now that my last request was answered, how bout a little Ronnie James?

By the way, it was Monday before my neck felt normal.

"If we don't stand together
we stand to lose the future
peace won't last forever
who will be the martyr you or me?"

Matt:
Chemical Youth -

Thanks! Tate is by far one of the best singers ever in rock music. It is difficult to sing him, and I know I don't compare to him at all - so I appreciate the compliment. Troy & Scott do an outstanding job on that song, too!

Ronnie James...hmmm...now that is some good stuff! There is so much to choose from - anything from Sabbath's Heaven & Hell - or something from Lock Up The Wolves or Last In Line. Though my favorite is Holy Diver. Great album - lots of potential there.

If you knew my infinite charm,
ther'd be no reason to be so alarmed!

When are you guys gonna play some Ryche?
They are only the best progressive band ever!
Seriously, I hope you mix the tunes you do so well with a surprise or two on Friday.

Matt:
Child of Fire -

I like the Queensryche references:

"Child Of Fire" - The Warning
"Gonna Get Close To You" - Rage For Order

Good stuff! I take it you're a big Ryche fan? Definitely one of my favorite progressive/metal bands.

We'll be adding a couple new ones this Friday. Stay tuned...

Matt:
Animal (aka Art from Brainstew) -

That's up to Dan DaMan. I'll rock on the bass with y'all again if you want me to.

Yeah, yeah - maybe I'll stand against the wall next time so you can't check me out.

You did awesome on the 4th as well - there were A LOT of people at the fairgrounds. That was tons of fun.

Well last night I was at home thinking about Odin's Court and kinda upset that I didn't get to see them play at Neptunes this weekend. Thats ok though. I started thrashing around the house thinking of all the songs you play, Man I was really rockin out, I was in my own little world having a damn blast. No one could stop me, I could have taken on the world, feelin 10 feet tall and bullet proof, until...........I broke your lamp! Just lemme know where you got it and I'll get cha a new one. Sorry Dude.

Matt:
Dan DaMan -

Sorry we didn't play Neptune's this past weekend - they called us last minute to fill in but one of OC's band members was on vacation.

As for the lamp, I've had that since I was about 10...

Matt still sucks but two out-of-three ain't bad! Hey, why don't you guys do that one! I wish I could talk the better half to driving back from the Outer Banks to catch the next show. By the way.....Loved the Ballad!

Matt:

Scott and Troy did kick ass - they are the best damn rhythm section in Southern Maryland!

Well, it's Monday and my neck is still sore from banging my head all night Saturday. You guys were great as usual and Brainstew was cool too. I thought they started off a little slow for my taste, but they definitely got better as the night went on.

Now you need to do Enter Sandman so I can do the prayer part:
Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the Lord my sould to keep
If I die before I wake
Pray the Lord my soul to take

Matt:

Glad you had fun, man! We did too. It was great to see SOOO many people at Harbor Sounds right when we started (and not leaving until we finished), and seeing the place packed shoulder to shoulder and all wanting to move up to the speakers was extra cool!

Yeah, Brainstew is a lot of fun! They aren't "metal", but they definitely have a heavy "punkish" edge and are well worth seeing.

Odins Court, Well what can I say? You guys played awesome on Saturday. That was the best I've ever heard a band play at Harbor Sounds. Who said old people don't like metal? Well, hopefully Jimmy-Z will see that and let you guys play all by yourself instead of having some second rate band finish up the end of the night. They say you guys get better everytime? Man, I can't wait till Sunday. Just one other thing, more flash pots!!!!!! Thanks for making our last gig in Southern Maryland something we'll never forget.

Matt:
Dan & Brainstew -

We really appreciate the comments and support. Harbor Sounds waw PACKED and the crowd was totally into it! I'd never seen Harbor Sounds like that before. It was an awesome experience.

Brainstew is one of the funnest bands in the area, and playing with y'all over the weekend totally rocked! Y'all sounded great and everyone really enjoyed it. Too bad it was your last "official" show. I guess I'll have to wait for your national tour before I get to see y'all again!

Hi Matt: I am so bummed I missed the Battle of the Bands. I heard you guys kicked ass. I checked out the gig pics to see everyone head banging. I guess I have to wait until June to see you guys play. Oh, the agony of waiting. I thought I was going to have a melt down in Florida with no metal being played on my parents stereo. I'll check to see if your other band is playing before the next Odin's Court date. I will work on those suggestions of songs to play if you still want them. I have plenty of ideas. Thanks for all of the updates on Odin's Court. I like to hear what is going on even if I can't participate. Take care and keep on thrashing on that guitar.

Matt,

Nothing against the other bands but I thought Odin's Court was the best band I saw at Catamaran's Saturday Night. Maybe, it has more to do with the fact that you guys played Pantera, Tool, Metallica, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Godsmack, Disturbed, Judas Priest and Megadeth instead of Creed and Incubus! Metal On and P.S.- The British Guy (MC) was pretty funny! See you guys at the next gig and congrats on opening for Great Train Robbery, they always pull a big crowd!

Matt:
Thanks, Dean! We do this so we can have fun and to entertain people like you who have the same passion for heavy music that we do. The fact that you enjoy us so much means a lot -- we definitely have some of the greatest fans in Southern Maryland (proved by the fact that y'all were the LOUDEST, BIGGEST, ROWDIEST group all day at Catamarans)!

All the bands did great at Battle of the Bands and we had a great time. It was a long day, but well worth it by the time we played. The British MC was hilarious (he got funnier the more he drank).

I am not sure how but I recieved your email about Sat 13 April show and decided to check out your site. Sounds interesting and hopefully some friends and I will be able to stop by and check out your sounds. By the way on your links page I think you should add Harbor Sounds. They were after all the first club in the area to feature all live music and most of the bands you have a link for have either played there regularly or got their first break into the live / paying gig there. Just a thought. www.harborsounds.com is the link in case your so inclined to add them. Best of Luck.... Jan
